Walking on Water
5-25-23
There are waves out there. Some of them are huge! But each one has a name. One is things you wish you never saw. One is lies. People can be cruel and say horrible things. A thief came and stole something precious to you. Bad news. Confusion. Death. How about a lack of energy do to poor health. One is lack. Sometimes it feels like there is a storm around you, and there is! And they just keep coming. They won’t stop. Failure. Defeat.
Like Peter, just keep your eyes on Jesus. This will give you the ability to walk on top of them. Not beside them. On top of them. In other words, ignore them. Just keep focused on Jesus.
This is not like walking on eggshells. Don’t walk around your problems. Simply walk on them.
Visualize walking over them. Stepping on them. If you stomp on them you are focusing on them. Don’t try to eliminate the problem. Walk on it. Focus on Jesus.
Easier said than done. I know. I believe the reason we have that story in the Bible is because we are supposed to just keep trying. Take Jesus hand, just like Peter did. Practice it. What have you got to lose? It can be done, and it will be done.
Mom said,
Power steering, and power brakes. Carlos Ortiz was a guy in a foreign country. He had a lot of trouble
steering, and braking. The missionary said, “in the USA, we now have power brakes, and power steering.”
Carlos thought, “you lie. How would the steering wheel know where to turn? How would the brakes know
when to stop?” In a few years, Carlos came to the USA. Then he saw, you have to put your foot on the pedal,
when you want to stop. But when you put your foot on the pedal, the power takes over. And you stop so
easy. The same with the steering. Where you want to turn, you turn the wheel and the power takes over.
Turning becomes so easy. So with your life. If you make an attempt to change the direction of your life,
God will take over and make the change. But you must turn the wheel, to get started. Or put the brakes
on when you want to stop. Then God will help you stop.
Solomon said “there is nothing new under the sun,’
Jesus said in the book of Revelation, ‘behold, I make all things new’.
God always has a remnant.
Sally said ‘God didn’t say you are sugar of the earth. He said you are the salt of the earth.’
Sally said ‘Jesus said Luke 7:6 Lord, trouble not thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter
under my roof.
’WOW’ Matthew 8:10 Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
You don’t have to be perfect, to WOW God. The centurion felt he wasn’t worthy.
Mom said, the king has 1 more move. There is a piece of artwork that is a picture of a chess game, by
Moritz Retzsch. The title of the piece is ‘checkmate’. You either have to change the name of the picture,
or change the picture. Here he says, I am a 6 time winner of the international chess tournament. I know
chess. The one guy is presented to look like the devil. He is leaning forward over the game board. His glee
is obvious. The other guy is leaning back in his chair. The look of defeat is strong. “I know what is wrong
with the picture.” The king has 1 more move.
The children of Israel were camped with a mountain on each side of them, with the Red Sea in front of
them, and the Egyptian army behind them. It seems that all is lost. The King still has one more move !!!!!!!!!!
They put Daniel in the lion’s den. All is lost. The King has 1 more move. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The devil is a liar. He has not defeated you. It just seems that way.
They killed Jesus. They put Him in a tomb. He was there 3 days. All is lost. But the King has one more
move.!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hallelujah !!!!!!!!!!!!!
