Lion or Lamb?

John in Revelation looked for someone who could open the book. No one could, so he cried. But an elder told him the lion of the tribe of Judah, could open the book. But what he saw was a lamb broken.

Revelation 5:5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

Who said that? The elders.

Revelation 5:12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and thinking and blessing.

The elders were wrong.

Let’s talk about this. When Jesus was on the cross, he took the sins of the world.

Go ahead, count up your sins. Bet they don’t amount to the sins Jesus had, when he took on the sins of the world.

This was a dead Lamb. Not a risen Christ. This means that Jesus was found worthy before he was manifested, or glorified. Never in this chapter does John talk about a resurrected Christ. Only a Lamb that was slain.

You are also found worthy, before your manifestation. Before you have a glorified body, you are worthy. While you are broken, you are worthy.

It is not my righteousness, but his righteousness. Philippians 3:9 And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Before he had the power of the resurrection, he was found worthy, to receive, power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and thinking and blessing. You are worthy to receive all this stuff too.

Let’s find the silver lining. What is a dead lamb? Answer, meat! When Jesus comes and opens the book and breaks the seals, you will get a great meal! The banquet! This is not milk. This is meat!

Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

You see, the Lamb is meat, and the Lamb will feed us meat!  Lions eat meat. Lambs eat grass.

Revelation 6:16 says hide from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb.

So when is this going to happen? That says that the second return of Christ will be during the tribulation, when the other guys get God’s wrath.

Revelation 7:14 These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

That was just another confirmation concerning timing.

Revelation 10:1 And I saw another mighty angel

Revelation 10:3 And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth:

This is an angel that is roaring. Not the Lamb.

Revelation 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death.

They overcame the great dragon, that old serpent, called the Devil and Satan. Verse 12:9

I think the Lamb is still bleeding. Because they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb. This is something that is happening now.

  1. Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion

This is a Lamb not a Lion.

Revelation 14:14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man,

That is Jesus on a cloud.

Revelation 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb

That is a Lamb not a Lion.

Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

That is a Lamb not a Lion.

Revelation 21:14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

Lamb not Lion.

Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light there of.

Lamb not Lion.

Revelation 21:27 but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Lamb.

Rev 22:1 proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Lamb

Rev 22:3 but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it:

Lamb.

Now here is a beautiful picture of Christ. Rev 19:11-16 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood; and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Now I want you to look at this picture. His vesture is dipped in blood. Blood has a shelf life of 42 days. I believe he is still bleeding. He is still cleansing us with his blood.

You are looking for a Lion, you get a Lamb. If this was good enough for God, I believe it is good enough for us.

Don’t use your lack of manifestation as a mode of procrastination. Go get your destiny.

Stop looking for Jesus to come back with the attitude of a Lion. He comes back with the attitude of a Lamb. That is the same mistake they made last time. And a lot of people missed him because of it.

Forever in His Love,
